Susan S. Gaston
Susan S. Gaston, President of the Gaston Group, is a government and public affairs consultant. Susan has been involved in the political and legislative fields for most of her life, having watched her father lobby for the oil and gas industries at the state and federal levels for nearly two decades. With more than 15 years of governmental affairs and lobbying experience before the Virginia General Assembly, regulatory agencies and various local government bodies, she has created strong relationships and contacts with elected and appointed officials at the local, state and federal levels, and all both sides of the political aisle. She is experienced in running effective grassroots and grasstops campaigns that focus on community advocacy and earned media. In addition, Susan coordinates the Economic Development and Business Services practice area at FutureLaw, and also is on the FutureLaw Renewable Energy and Real Estate Workout teams. Susan is a former staff member in the Washington, D. C. office of United States Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), and is a graduate of the College of William and Mary with a degree in American Government. She also holds a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Development from The George Washington University. Susan is a well respected and effective advocate for her clients and their interests. In addition to her lobbying work, Susan is an owner in IAC, a private technology company that implements eNotary.
John G. "Chip" Dicks
John G. "Chip" Dicks is the Managing Partner at FutureLaw. He served as an elected member of the Virginia General Assembly during the 1980's. Since leaving the Legislature, Chip has represented associations and businesses on administrative, legislative and regulatory matters before state government agencies and the General Assembly. He has substantial experience in representing developers on a variety of land use applications in a number of localities in Virginia. Chip has expertise in the laws and regulations affecting billboard signs and in the field of landlord tenant and fair housing laws. Chip is a seasoned professional who helps the client identify and refine its strategic goals, and then establish an implementation plan to meet the client's timeframe for completion of a project. Outside of the practice of law, Chip is an active real estate investor through Capital Realty & Investment Company, and is an owner in a number of private companies including an eNotarization company, a wireless communications company and an alternative energy company.
Martin K. Johnson
Martin Johnson is a government and real estate consultant. Martin is the former Director of Public Policy and Government Relations for the Virginia Association of REALTORS®, and prior to that, was a Policy Assistant to the Secretary of Administration and for Governor James S. Gilmore III. With his policy experience representing REALTORS® and due to the fact that Martin's family has been in real estate development for generations, it is natural that Martin is also active with Capital Realty & Investment Company. Martin is well respected as an effective advocate for clients before the Virginia General Assembly and enjoys a solid relationship with the members of the General Assembly on both sides of the political isle.
